Boys & Girls Clubs in the State of Indiana will join forces to give back to the great state of Indiana and show their appreciation by planting more than 120 trees on May 9 in honor of Children’s Mental Health Awareness Month. With the combined strength and power of 31 collective Club organizations, totaling 164 individual Club locations that serve more than 44,000 Club youth, this statewide day of service shows the impact youth can have when they unite for the greater good. This day will mark a historic occasion, as Boys & Girls Clubs in Indiana celebrates its first-ever statewide initiative and the first ever statewide initiative in Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s 160-year history. The tree planting ceremony will take place on May 9. Ceremonial plaques and the trees, themselves, will serve as a lasting symbol of this effort, and honor the generous support from Lilly Endowment Inc.
