Boys & Girls Club of Morgan County seeks a uniquely qualified, motivated, and high-energy person to serve as the organization’s Unit Director. Boys & Girls Club of Morgan County is an independently operated affiliate of Boys & Girls Clubs of America and serves children between the ages 6 to 18 years old. It is the organization’s mission to empower all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The Club achieves this mission by offering a variety of after-school and summer programs focusing on Leadership and Service, Education, The Arts, Health and Wellness, and Sports and Recreation.

The Club is searching for individuals who are excited about implementing world class youth development programs. Applicants should also be earnest about providing for the safety of young people, staff, and volunteers. Our goal is to make sure success is within reach of every young person who enters the Club’s doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school. Our youth and teens should have a solid plan for their future, demonstrate good character and citizenship, and live a healthy lifestyle.

The Club’s annual budget averages approximately $430,000. In 2023, 253 unique youth and teens considered themselves Club members, and the organization’s average daily attendance was 96. The Club served an additional 1,300 young people last year through outreach.

To ensure sustainability and fuel growth, the Club has set goals of increasing overall membership by 30%, teen membership by 50%, and average daily attendance by 15% on an annual basis for the next few years. These goals are some of the reasons the organization is looking to hire another growth-minded professional.

The Unit Director will be involved in all the daily and annual unit management aspects of the organization with a heavy emphasis on Safety, Staff and Volunteer Leadership, and producing a world class out of school experience for all young people. A successful candidate must be an experienced youth program developer. This position requires a working knowledge of protecting the safety of children, staff development and leadership, technology, speaking and writing for organizational communication. Applicants with the ability and desire to execute event planning, volunteer recruitment and management, staff training and development, facility management, and special projects, are preferred. Additionally, this candidate must have a demonstrated ability to collaborate with an Executive Director and a Professional Staff team, who are all very active in every aspect of the organization.

A bachelor’s degree with 3 years of work experience in management is preferred. The salary range is $38,000 to $42,000 based on experience.
